What about the second hand smoke issue if you were to legalize pot. I do not want to walk outside a bldg and smell the stuff 20 ft from a public door. Talk about possibly being under the influence and not know it.

It was shown years ago that if Washington State grew and sold marajuana that it could pay for all the children in this state to go to school for 16 years free. I know it is PC to demonize cigarettes and not alcohol but if it was legal then it would be controled and maybe less crime in our neighborhoods. It would also open up new agriculture and jobs and yes new tax revenue. When I see the devastating effects of alcohol use to individuals and to society, I wonder at the demonizing of cigarettes and pot. I also wonder at the doulbe standard from all who over indulge in alcohol use. Maybe it is something to discuss and get into the open and also be equally appalled when you hear about a drunk abusing his wife and children or getting into a car and killing someone or about the developmentally disable children born from those who drink alcohol. I hear about all the political and charity parties with alcohol served to excess and wonder if we smokers are really the only evil in society?
