Climate Bill
How do you feel about the climate bill? Is this a push to just get a new revenue stream?
I can’t help but notice the progressive change in how they present this crap to the public. First it was ‘global warming’ and that didn’t get enough traction. Then they changed the phrase to ‘climate change’; duh, it has always been changing and that hasn’t been received too well. Now, it is officially ‘global warming pollution change’; will that do the trick?

I think it is arrogant for humans to think that they are so important that they can affect the earth in this way. I also think it is somewhat ignorant not to realize how far we have come in cleaning up our industries. I read a Sherlock Homes book once that talked about “Black Fog”. There was so much coal in the air at times in London that when it was foggy you would be covered in black coal dust if you went walking outdoors. I also remember the 60’s when all the college students were going to create electric cars, solar and wind energy and little or no waste in our dumps. So where are all these forward thinking Baby Boomers? I know if this goes in, I will pay more for energy and much much more for food. I wonder what we service workers will do and what the seniors I care for and about will do. Since Liberals claim to care so much for the elderly, children and lower income workers, will they subsidize our grocery bills?

Patti
It’s no different than “We must get the stimulus bill passed quickly, so we can stop unemployment at 8%”.
Yet unemployment is almost 10%.
I have been following the Waxman-Markey Bill closely and at this stage the democrats are making every attempt at pushing this through quickly (recall the speed reader Waxman used to read one sheet of the 934 page bill).
This is a tactic to force feed legislation down our throats so we won’t have a chance to pick it apart. Currently, Waxman is trying to make concessions to states that use coal and oil to seek alternate forms of energy.
See here http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20090624/sc_n…)
However, there are many democrats who don’t particularly care for it and have reportedly reached a compromise.

This is still developing. Keep an eye on it, because you are about to see this country hurdle headlong into catastrophe.
Liberalism is a perverted ideology, progressivism is a psychosis. Either way, we will see a new country formed call the United Socialist Sates of America if they are not stopped in 2012.
TTFN, Comrade Patti.

Patti, of all the lunatic legislation this Obama administration has foisted on us in four short months, this proposed cap and trade bill is the most dangerous piece of legislation.
It is a total power grab in that it will shut down the productive engine of industry and jobs in this country forever. Can’t use coal. Can’t use oil. Can’t use gas. What do we have in abundance in the USA? Coal oil and gas. They say wind is OK, but it doesn’t always blow when you want it. They say Sun is OK, but it doesn’t shine when you want it. They say Biofuel is Ok but making fuel instead of food is nonsense.
Our elected ones continue to fail us badly on all fronts. They are beholden to special interests. We the people can eat “cake” as far as they are concerned. People rise up and say no loudly.

If anyone is interested, you can call Waxman and Markey’s office. I posted it on my site:

There isn’t any global warming. Why can’t the hundreds of legitimate scientists and professors, like the WWU fellow, get the exposure to explain the real facts to the ignorant masses?
Those exploiting the issue, like Al Gore, are in it for the money. The measures will not mean a drop in the sea toward any improvement because of other countries’ gross pollution. Need I mention a few?
Also, the rape sentences between a grandfather with no penetration of 23 years and the former border patrol semihead honcho with a minor and actual repeated intercourse who gets a favorable 4 years needs some scrutiny.
The prosecutor’s office and the judge let the community down with their favoritism and dishonor of the mores of our city. But, that’s just my opinion. Expose it please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It’s a moot point now. It passed 219-212.
Let’s just hope that Obama and the dems are voted out in 2012 and voted out.
